Fifth Edition. Originally published in 1605 as: Remaines of a greater worke, concerning Britaine… A variant of the edition with imprint date 1636.
Condition
Bound in late 19th C. half-calf over the original 17th C boards. The newer binding very good with some wear to the corners. The spine in four compartments with three raised bands, with a hand stamped red lettering piece in the second compartment from the top.
Internally new endpapers. The contents generally clean but with some browning to the edges and some stains and early annotations. Some minor worming to the edges in sections D-P4. Content leaf on H3 with old repairs. Remains of antique binding scraps and notes preserved on several sheets bound in at the end of the volume. These notes are dated 1898, probably when the book was rebound. With the 19th C bookplate of Francis Markham.
