Condition
Bound in contemporary late 18th C. Calf. The spine in six gilt stamped compartments with five raised bands. A red lettering piece in the second compartment from the top. Boards and spine a bit scuffed. Hinges cracked but holding very well. Corners split. Lower spine chipped. Internally retains the original endpapers. Title and portrait a bit stained but the contents generally clean and crisp with little in the way of foxing or stains. Inscription on inner front board: ‘Gift of Mrs Smith Feb 7 1799’
